Die Galerie –able im Quartier Neukölln in Berlin will die Veröffentlichung der Arbeit von KünstlerInnen aus verschiedenen Bereichen der zeitgenössischen Kunst fördern und zur kulturellen Entwicklung des Quartiers beitragen.
Am Ursprung dieser Ziele stehen zwei Ideen: Zunächst soll ein Ort geschaffen werden, der es jungen Künstler und Künstlerinnen erlaubt, ihre Arbeiten zu präsentieren. Anlässlich bestimmter Veranstaltungen soll zudem einem interessierten Publikum die Gelegenheit geboten werden, den Kunstschaffenden zu begegnen und Neues zu entdecken.
Ein kontinuierlich wechselndes Programm verschiedener kultureller Veranstaltungen (Filmvorführungen, Performances, Konzerte, Lesungen, etc.) trägt der Vielfalt der möglichen Ansätze, Recherchen und Ausdrucksmittel Rechnung.
–able ist um einen echten Zugang zur Arbeit der Künstlerin, des Künstlers bemüht. Die Galerie soll den Kunstschaffenden nicht nur einen öffentlichen Raum bieten, sondern insbesodere auch die Gelegenheit, sich bei der Organisation der eigenen Ausstellung ganz einzubringen. Die KünstlerInnen werden zudem aufgefordert, Werke anderer Kunstschaffenden aus verschiedenen Bereichen vorzustellen; künstlerische Ereignisse, die sie inspirieren und beeinflussen und die zur Entwicklung ihrer eigenen Arbeit beigetragen haben.
–able will somit ein Ort des Experimentierens sein, der den interdisziplinären Austausch fördert und die unterschiedlichen Pole der Kreativität zueinander in Beziehung setzt.

Située dans le quartier de Neukölln à Berlin, la galerie –able favorise la diffusion du travail d’artistes issus de différents domaines de la création contemporaine, et cherche à contribuer au développement de l’action culturelle dans le quartier.
Deux idées ont été à l’origine de ce projet : ouvrir d’abord un lieu permettant à de jeunes créateurs d’avoir un espace d’exposition, et inviter tout public à venir à la rencontre des artistes et découvrir des créations nouvelles lors d’interventions ponctuelles.
A travers un programme d’expositions régulièrement renouvelé et l’organisation de manifestations culturelles variées (projections de films, performances, concerts, lectures, etc.), est privilégiée la multiplicité des recherches, des pratiques et des démarches.
-able cherche à avoir une approche originale du travail de l’artiste en lui offrant d’une part un espace de visibilité, mais aussi en lui offrant la possibilité de s’impliquer pleinement dans l’organisation de son exposition. En parallèle, il est invité à faire découvrir les créations d’autres artistes issus de différents domaines artistiques qui peuvent l’influencer ou l’inspirer, et qui sont susceptibles de se rapprocher de son propre champ de recherche.
-able cherche ainsi à être un lieu d’expérimentations privilégiant la pluridisciplinarité et la mise en lien de différents pôles de créations.

Located in the Neukölln district in Berlin, the galery –able promotes the work of artists from a wide range of areas of contemporary culture, and seeks to contribute to the development of cultural activities in the neighbourhood.
Two ideas are at the base of the project : first, to open a space which allows young creators to exhibit their work, and then to invite the public to meet the artists and discover their latest creations at specific events.
Through a program of regularly changing exhibitions and the organisation of multiple cultural events (film screenings, performances, concerts, lectures, etc), the space favours a wide range of research, practices and procedures.
-able seeks an innovative approach to the artist’s work not only by offering him/her a space for presentation, but also by giving the artist the possibility to get involved in the organisation of the exhibition itself. In parallel, the artist is invited to discover the creations of other artists working in different artistic domains which may influence or inspire him/her, and which are likely to find interest in his/her own field of research.
-able thereby seeks to establish itself as an experimental space favoring multidisciplinarity and the creation of relationships between different artistic domains.
